We plan to cover different accrediting bodies' requirements, providing samples and workstations tailored to various centers’ needs. Measurable process improvement will be a top focus as well as utilizing open dialogue and in-depth Q & A. To assist with this training, we will be reviewing the AAAHC 2021-22 Bernard A. Kershner Surgical/Procedural Care Winner's study by The Knoxville Ophthalmology ASC, LLC titled “Prevention of Endophthalmitis.” Participants will walk away with a better understanding of how to work through each step of a focus study within their surgery center.

Optimizing ASC Performance: Key Factors to Financial Success

This session will provide education and insights pertaining to the current environment, key stakeholders, trends with payers, surgery migration and ASC growth nationally. Key factors that impact opportunity and limitations to financial success with be reviewed. Education on ASC payment systems, developing a managed care strategy and fundamentals for payer contract negotiations will be discussed. Finally, financial performance statistics and business office KPIs will be reviewed, with recommendations addressing the following: 1) how to improve and measure performance, 2) establishing and achieving targets that will impact performance, and 3) key factors that enable ASCs to achieve success.

Because ASCs conduct an Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) by identifying and reviewing potential risk factors related to the care, treatment and services they provide and to the environment of care in their own facility, these risks vary significantly depending on the ASC. Participate in this interactive roundtable session to learn how to design an effective ICRA for your own facility and determine how to use the results to decide where to focus your infection surveillance, prevention and control efforts. You will also begin to identify and prioritize the risks of greatest importance in your facility and establish goals for reducing the risk of infection associated with each. Risk factors, potential impacts and the probability of an occurrence will be explored.
