[The American College of Radiology (ACR)] has formally asked CMS to update the National Coverage Determination (NCD) 210.3 – Colorectal Cancer Screening Tests to reflect the fact that Medicare now covers screening computed tomographic colonography (CTC). Following a multi-year ACR public, provider and decisionmaker education and advocacy campaign regarding CTC efficacy, cost efficiency, and patient compliance gains, CMS announced in the 2025 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) and 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) final rules that it will cover beneficiaries for CTC.

There are some positive steps forward for physician payments for services provided to Medicare patients in 2026, but the changes need to go further to preserve quality and access to care for the nation’s older-adult patients, the AMA has told the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in a comprehensive comment letter on the proposed 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.

The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) strongly condemns UnitedHealthcare's decision to move forward with its discriminatory anesthesia reimbursement policy, which reduces payments by 15% for services rendered independently by Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists. “This policy is not only unlawful but is a pure money grab for UnitedHealthcare,” said AANA President Jeff Molter, MSN, MBA, CRNA.
