Clinical & Operational Benchmarking Survey

Gain vital insights into your ASC’s performance—and how it compares to other facilities—with ASCA's Clinical & Operational Benchmarking Survey.

This valuable survey gives you access to a full year of national comparison data you can use to improve clinical outcomes, billing performance, staffing and more at your ASC.

Intuitive reporting and filtering features make it easy to measure your facility’s performance against all participating facilities or against similar ASCs (based on size, specialty, location and other characteristics). You can also use insights from the survey to identify areas to address in a QAPI study.

Survey subscriptions include access to data from all four quarters of the year, and participation is open to all ASCs. ASCA members save $150 on 2025 survey subscriptions. 

Participate in the Survey

Data for this survey is submitted quarterly. Participating facilities should submit data during each reporting period to ensure accurate and comprehensive reports.

Below are the data submission periods and dates the reports are available:

New for the 2026 Survey

To ensure you are prepared when the data collection period begins on January 1, please review the following information about the 2026 survey content and questions. The survey opens and data submission begins April 1.

Please note: The survey will transition to a new platform in early 2026. More information and instructions will be provided in the first quarter of 2026. Survey subscribers do not need to take any action at this time.

2026 Clinical & Operational Benchmarking Survey Overview

There are two main sections in the survey:

• Annual Profile and Demographics
• Overall Reporting (referred to as the main survey)
  • Now includes pediatric reporting

There are five specialty-specific sections in the survey:

• Ophthalmology
• Endoscopy
• Total Joint Replacement
• Complex Spine
• Cardiovascular

Additional survey notes:

• ASCA member facilities subscribed to the survey must answer at least 80% of the questions to receive the quarterly report at no cost. If your ASC doesn’t meet this requirement, you will be able to purchase the report. More information about this will be available in early 2026.

We are making some changes to the survey signup process as we integrate the Clinical & Operational Benchmarking Survey into ASCA membership.

• If you are interested in subscribing to the 2026 survey: For the time being, 2026 survey subscriptions are only available as part of ASCA membership. If you would like to subscribe to the survey, please join ASCA or renew your membership. Standalone survey subscriptions will be made available later this fall.
