ASCA HIGHLIGHTS

Beginning in January 2025, all Medicare-certified ASCs that participate in Medicare’s Ambulatory Surgical Center Quality Reporting (ASCQR) Program will be required to work with a CMS-approved, third-party vendor to administer the Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (OAS CAHPS) Survey to their patients. Listen to the newest episode of ASCA’s Advancing Surgical Care Podcast, “Preparing for OAS CAHPS,” to learn more about the survey and find out why ASCA is advising ASCs not to wait until 2025 to begin using the survey.

The OAS CAHPS Survey is designed to measure patient experience with overall care received in ASCs. It is voluntary through the end of 2024 and will become mandatory for all eligible Medicare-certified ASCs beginning in 2025.

To ensure your facility is ready when the survey becomes mandatory, ASCA strongly encourages all ASCs to get started with the survey as soon as possible. ASCA members receive a discount on Press Ganey’s OAS CAHPS Survey.
