The U.S. health department and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will form an expert advisory panel to make recommendations for improving how care is financed and delivered across insurance plans, the agencies said on Thursday. The panel of experts would make recommendations directly to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and CMS chief Dr. Mehmet Oz.

ASCA’s July 2025 60-Second Survey asked facilities about their use of electronic health record (EHR) products. Similar surveys were conducted in 2021 and 2023. In this year’s survey, 76 percent of facilities reported using an EHR, up from 64 percent in 2023 and 55 percent in 2021. The 2025 survey received 280 responses from surgery centers in 42 states.
